1-1 Party

Okay, that interesting scoop apart. I’m trying to organize a very interesting party on a monthly basis. The whole idea of the party is to get to know new people all the time so my caveat was for all the invitees to bring in a new friend for everyone to get to know. This hopes to allow new friends to be made in all the different parties and it’s definitely an interesting way to get to know more people. I’m currently working out the invite and let’s see whether I can get it out within a week. Anyway, just found out two new friends came down to begin work in Singapore. Strange but it seems the interest in working here has increased over the past year. I guess its quite true because let me work out for you. Malaysia – Manager earns RM4,000 per month can buy a Proton at RM50,000 and drink Starbucks at RM8 per grande while when he travels to Australia, everything three times more expensive. Singapore – Manager earns SGD4,000 per month can buy a Toyota at SGD50,000 and drink Starbucks at SGD4 per grande while when he travels to Australia, everything 1.3 times more expensive. So, tell me which country is more expensive ?

BBQ Party

Well, sorry for such long hiatus. It has been a crazy week. But since I’m updating, I might as well give you some scoop. A friend of mine from KL came down to Singapore for a weekend holiday. I had a BBQ at home with loads of champagne – and finally, you have a nice picture of that friend after a few bubbly. Well, guess who !

Hua Hin - Uncovered

Sometimes a change of environment will make you feel refreshed. I’m now in Hua Hin, a beautiful beach town where it’s really quiet. The place is quite nice, different from other more touristy type islands. In fact, the King has decided to build his residence right along the beachfront as his official residence. Nice, isn’t it ? I have the opportunity to stay in Hyatt Hua Hin and the place is simply huge. I guess land is still amazingly lot in this place. The only problem with Hua Hin is it takes quite a long drive down from Bangkok (minimum about 3 hours). Again, thanks to staying at Hyatt, we got a brand new BMW 5 series fetching us from the airport to hotel instead of the vans which are so uncomfortable. Sofitel that looks like Raffles Hotel in Singapore Next, I also get to be in a very colonial type hotel (Sofitel) for some meetings and in fact, I’m writing this BLOG while sitting at the restaurant with wireless. I’ve also attached a photo I’ve taken from my camera to show you how beautiful this hotel ala “Raffles” type. Oh, I'm typing this BLOG while sitting on this beautiful place. The food, as usual, was really good. The Thai team actually brought us to a roadside stall for some Pad-Thai, deep-fried prawns, Tom Yam soup and fish. Generally, I believe the best Thai cooking are those you eat by the roadside. The greater aspect of Hua Hin seems to be the place for retirees. It does show when we see a large number of senior tourists walking along Hua Hin night markets. So, if you’re into partying, this might not be the best place but a REALLY quiet holiday, Hua Hin will be a good bet.
