Hua Hin - Uncovered

Sometimes a change of environment will make you feel refreshed. I’m now in Hua Hin, a beautiful beach town where it’s really quiet. The place is quite nice, different from other more touristy type islands. In fact, the King has decided to build his residence right along the beachfront as his official residence. Nice, isn’t it ? I have the opportunity to stay in Hyatt Hua Hin and the place is simply huge. I guess land is still amazingly lot in this place. The only problem with Hua Hin is it takes quite a long drive down from Bangkok (minimum about 3 hours). Again, thanks to staying at Hyatt, we got a brand new BMW 5 series fetching us from the airport to hotel instead of the vans which are so uncomfortable. Sofitel that looks like Raffles Hotel in Singapore Next, I also get to be in a very colonial type hotel (Sofitel) for some meetings and in fact, I’m writing this BLOG while sitting at the restaurant with wireless. I’ve also attached a photo I’ve taken from my camera to show you how beautiful this hotel ala “Raffles” type. Oh, I'm typing this BLOG while sitting on this beautiful place. The food, as usual, was really good. The Thai team actually brought us to a roadside stall for some Pad-Thai, deep-fried prawns, Tom Yam soup and fish. Generally, I believe the best Thai cooking are those you eat by the roadside. The greater aspect of Hua Hin seems to be the place for retirees. It does show when we see a large number of senior tourists walking along Hua Hin night markets. So, if you’re into partying, this might not be the best place but a REALLY quiet holiday, Hua Hin will be a good bet.
